My August Salt Lake City Retreat for Adopted People Who Want to Talk More about the Present and the Future than the Past
I rented a house 15 minutes from Salt Lake’s airport (https://www.vrbo.com/3959844) because every time I drive through Utah, part of me wants to stay there. Those mountains! I thought it would be the perfect place to share with you the skills I learned in Martha Beck’s Wayfinder coaching program that have radically helped me shift from being obsessed with the thoughts in my head (mostly negative, mostly having to do with adoption) to a more Self-based way of seeing the world (mostly curious, mostly seeking and seeing connection). I will also be talking about what I learned from writing for years about adoption and my life and from leading groups of adopted people.
My goal is to be MDMA in human form and to, with loving respect, blow your mind enough so that you leave feeling empowered and like that was money and time well spent. My goal is to have you leave more excited about being you in your body, in the life that you have then when you first came through the door.
My goal is to have you connected with others in the group and, hopefully, make life-long friends.
My goal is to have a lot of fun.
I love having more than one goal because then life’s more like a game than a term paper.
The house has four bedrooms, so three rooms are up for grabs at $125 a night. My dog will be there (in case dander is a problem for anyone). One room can sleep two, so if you want to split a room with a friend, go for it. Otherwise, you can get a hotel or some other kind of accommodations nearby. Let me know if that’s the option you choose, and I’ll get the address for you, so you can find a place as close as possible.
Our house has a hot tub, so bring your suit if you want.
We’ll meet Thursday, August 14 from 5-7:30 PM.
Friday and Saturday from 9-6 with a two-hour lunchbreak and then Sunday from 8-9:30 AM to say goodbye.
No food is included because I can only do so much. I am a terrible cook, anyway.
The cost is $800 for the retreat (overnight accommodations are additional as mentioned above).
Limit: six people.
Let’s enjoy this one wild and precious life.
Because why not?
