SAVE THE DATE!
March 9 & 10, 2024
TUCSON FESTIVAL OF BOOKS
Dear Adoptee Author,
You are invited to participate in the Tucson Festival of Books the weekend of March 9 + 10, 2024, on the campus of the University of Arizona. This festival is for book lovers of all genres, and maybe, just maybe, Adoptee Authors might become its own genre! Established authors as well as new writers come together in a celebration of words and stories in this two-day free festival held both outside and inside for book sales, panel discussions and author presentations.
If you have published or will be publishing a recent book (between January 1, 2023 and February 15, 2024) through a traditional publisher, your publicist or publisher can fill out the author nomination form before September 1, 2023: https://tucsonfestivalofbooks.org/?id=168
If you have self-published or plan to publish a book independently -- between January 1, 2023, and February 15, 2024 – Indie Author self-nominations are open until October 18, 2023. There is a $45 non-refundable registration and submission fee:

We hope to have an exhibitor booth of adoptee authors, where authors can sell books, talk to the reading public, and share the experience of writing and adoption through this literary festival.
All adoptee authors will be invited to participate in adoptee-centered events throughout the weekend, including brunch, happy hour and a hike in the beautiful Sonoran Desert. A block of rooms has been set aside at a group rate of $99 plus tax ($114.93) at the Ramada by Wyndham, 777 Cushing Street, Tucson, AZ 95745 (520) 239-2300. Ask for the “Adoptee Authors” rate when booking your room. Be sure to book prior to February 8, 2024, to get the group rate, which includes breakfast buffet and free WiFi. This hotel is on the SunTran streetcar line that goes directly through downtown to the University of Arizona, where the festival is being held, as well as to shops and restaurants nearby. You are also welcome to explore the festival hotel sponsors found at the Tucson Festival of Books website.
The weather in Tucson is usually perfect at this time of year. For information about the Tucson area: https://www.visittucson.org/
We are not officially affiliated with the Tucson Festival of Books, but hopeful we can support adoptee writers and amplify adoptee voices by being a presence at the festival. We hope to see you there!
