Worker Bee Farm

I grow vegetables at Spirit Hill Farm, but the grass is always greener on the other side, and the carrots and greens I can get at Worker Bee Farm in Freestone are…just say it, Anne,…superior to mine. The carrots are carrotier and the greens are greener. I’m a farmer-in-training, after all, and Farmer Will is the real deal.

This is going to be a short post. It’s a celebration of people who work hard to provide us with gorgeous food. Farmer Will told me that his farm is where farmers go to get their produce.

Besides being a celebration of hard work and excellence, this place is also a celebration of trust. Farmer Will works with the honor system, and he takes cash, checks, or I.O.U.s. You write down the produce and flowers that you take and the amount you owe, and then you put your money in the wooden box.

And you go home and eat.
